Auditing an Academic Library Book Collection.
Kiger, Jack E.; Wise, Ken
Journal of Academic Librarianship, v22 n4 p267-72 Jul 1996
Attribute sampling can be used to audit academic library collections, clarify cataloging and access problems, evaluate allocation strategies, and make collection development decisions. Attribute sampling involves randomly sampling the physical collection and catalog records to conduct relationship tests between them. Guidelines are provided for segmenting the collection "population" in order to identify significant characteristics. (LAM)
