Although administrative science has made much progress over the years, it continues to be a fragmented field of study. This essay explores one source of the continuing fragmentation of administrative science--the extensive but partial rapprochement with the humanities that has occurred in recent decades. The connection to the traditional topics of philosophy has been most disjointed. (41 references) (MLH)
