Examines discrepancies between Ontario school counselors' actual versus preferred time on task and found counselors wanted to spend more time doing group guidance, educational and occupational planning, and placement and follow-up. Counselors also wanted to spend less time doing other administrative tasks. Main reasons for the discrepancy reported included the administration dictating the counselor's role and high student-counselor ratio. (KW)
