A Study of Time Utilisation in the Reception Class with Particular Reference to Teacher-Pupil Interaction.
Orchard, Jane
Early Child Development and Care, v115 p125-39 Jan 1996
Examined how teachers divided time within the school-year and daily timetables. Data were collected from three schools, using field notes, tape recordings, photographs, discussion, and the Kelly Personal Construct Theory. Found problems of lack of support and lack of quality in interaction with students. Results suggest that better physical and financial support will improve teachers' utilization of time. (MOK)
