Recent trends in business suggest a need for change in higher education: need for effective use of technology, client orientation, teamwork, empowered decision making, follow-through on commitments, and need for lifelong learning. Higher education should respond by staying in touch with business requirements; emphasizing learning, not teaching; and redesigning the delivery of education to take advantage of technology. (MSE)
