Examines language teachers' definitions of cultural awareness as part of an international investigation of their understanding of their social role as a profession in the context of political and cultural change in Europe. The investigation included a postal questionnaire with two questions regarding cultural awareness and, for some, an interview with a researcher. (four references) (CK)
