Psychosocial characteristics of child maltreatment cases labelled as "not serious enough" were studied with 48 cases of suspected physical abuse, 13 of neglect, and 8 of psychological maltreatment identified by teachers, and a nonabused comparison group (n=283). Results indicated poor personal and social adjustment of the children in the maltreatment groups. (Author/SW)
