Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: A Tough-Minded Therapy for a Tender-Minded Profession.
Weinrach, Stephen G.
Journal of Counseling & Development, v73 n3 p296-300 Jan-Feb 1995
Objections to Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) may be based on the predominance of the personality type in the counseling profession dubbed "tender mindedness." The dichotomy between the "tough minded" and the "tender minded" may suggest the reasons for its acceptance among some and rejection by others. The author examines common misperceptions about REBT and suggests some intervention strategies for the "tender minded." (JPS)
