A literature search identified cultural themes important to Southeast Asian refugees that might help develop culturally relevant health promotion messages. Literature reviews and interviews with refugees and professionals found two cultural themes important to the refugees (kinship solidarity and search for equilibrium). Appropriate health promotion for this group is discussed. (Author/SM)
