Voices from the Field: Interviews with Students from Migrant Farmworker Families.
Martinez, Yolanda G.; And Others
Journal of Educational Issues of Language Minority Students, v14 p333-48 Win 1994
Studies aspects of migrant lifestyle and perceptions from a youthful viewpoint. In-depth interviewing of 84 elementary and high school students revealed that, although migrant farm workers value education, their children often confront obstacles such as mobility, poverty, and hostility that encourage them to drop out of school. Further research is recommended. (12 references) (CK)
