Application of total quality management (TQM) in the classroom provides an opportunity to eliminate the minimally successful authoritarian management style. Classroom TQM differs because the customer-client relationship is not clearly defined, motivational factors have differing expectations, and there is less pressure in terms of the consequences of failure.
