Psychometric Evidence of Intellectual Growth Spurts in Early Adolescence.
Andrich, David; Styles, Irene
Journal of Early Adolescence, v14 n3 p328-44 Aug 1994
Examined quantitative evidence of an intellectual growth spurt during early adolescence by combining modern psychometric modeling, computerized testing with the Raven progressive matrices, and longitudinal socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. Found that gender difference was not significant. Notes the impact of this evidence on educational decisions during adolescence, particularly in relation to educational assessment and placement. (AP)
