Diagnosis, Assessment, and Treatment of Internalizing Problems in Children: The Role of Longitudinal Data.
Ollendick, Thomas H.; King, Neville J.
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v62 n5 p918-27 Oct 1994
Examines role of longitudinal data in diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of internalizing disorders in children and adolescents. Suggests that internalizing disorders in children and adolescents are highly prevalent, frequently comorbid with other childhood disorders, and persistent over time. Adds that considerable amount of instability characterizes these disorders and that developmental course is not fully understood. (Author/NB)
