A program that paired 41 first-year international students with host students trained in intercultural communication and information on campus services had beneficial effects. International participants were more likely than nonparticipants to describe their first year positively, use campus services, and report gains in language fluency. No academic performance difference was found between participants and nonparticipants. (Author/MSE)
