Year-Round Schooling for Academically At-Risk Students: Outcomes and Perceptions of Participants in an Elementary Program.
Campbell, Wallace D.
ERS Spectrum, v12 n3 p20-24 Sum 1994
Summarizes a study examining whether year-round schooling, compared to a traditional school-year schedule, would affect the achievement and attendance of a group of at-risk Texas elementary students. There was little consistency between various groups' perceptions and actual student outcomes. There was no significant difference favoring year-round schools, except for increased parent enthusiasm and decreased teacher burnout. (Contains 12 references.) (MLH)
