Analyzes 595 articles in 21 core library instruction journals published between 1977 and 1991 to test the theory that the number of research studies in bibliographic instruction is increasing. Research articles were classed by research method employed, subject studied, and library type. Results showed that the number of research articles increased steadily. (Contains eight references.)
