The Fabric of an Event: Different Sources of Temporal Invariance Differentially Affect 24-Month-Olds' Recall.
Bauer, Patricia J.; Travis, Lisa L.
Cognitive Development, v8 n3 p319-41 Jul-Sep 1993
Compared 24 month olds' ordered recall of events constrained by enabling relations with that of arbitrarily ordered events equated for familiarity and temporal invariance. Children's ordered recall of events constrained by enabling relations was superior to that of arbitrarily ordered ones, indicating that, after experience with an event in invariant temporal order, enabling relations provide a relative organizational advantage.
