Instructional Preferences of Cree, Inuit, and Mohawk Teachers.
McAlpine, Lynn; Taylor, Donald M.
Journal of American Indian Education, v33 n1 p1-20 Fall 1993
Forty-five Canadian Native teachers (Cree, Inuit, and Mohawk) completed the Canfield Instructional Styles Inventory and Teaching Styles Instrument. Results show that these teachers share instructional preferences that differ from those of mainstream teachers. Furthermore, there were differences among Native groups, particularly in overall typology and in attitudes toward teaching styles, student learning styles, and discipline. (KS)
