The Shape of Change in Psychotherapy: Longitudinal Assessment of Personal Problems.
Barkham, Michael; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v61 n4 p667-77 Aug 1993
Studied parameters that describe the course of change in subjective intensity of personal problems during psychotherapy: initial severity, rate of problem change, day-to-day intensity variability, and change in rate of problem change. Rate of change parameter correlated with traditional pre- to posttreatment outcome measures. Instability was high. Tension and mood problems were more unstable than relationships or self-esteem issues. (Author/SR)
