Sudden Death and Bereavement Outcomes: The Impact of Resources on Grief Symptomatology and Detachment.
Reed, M. D.
Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior, v23 n3 p204-20 Fall 1993
Examined grief, family detachment, and impact of resources following sudden bereavement among family members of victims of suicide and accidental deaths. Most grief-stricken survivors were more detached from family. Self-esteem emerged as strongest predictor of grief and played role in mediating influences of religious participation and exercise on grief. Expressive support exerted direct effects on grief and detachment. (Author/NB)
