A survey of direct service organizations and three telephone surveys of visually impaired persons revealed that only a small percentage of visually impaired persons are able to acquire assistive technology devices because of lack of information and financial resources. Financial resources of individuals with visual impairments, financial assistance available, and equipment acquisition patterns are discussed. (Author/JDD)
