A Durkheimian Analysis of Youth Suicide: Canada, 1971 and 1981.
Trovato, Frank
Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior, v22 n4 p413-27 Win 1992
Examined relationship between social integration on young Canadians' (aged 15-29) suicide rate for 1971 and 1981: family integration (divorce), religious integration (no affiliation); and economic anomie (unemployment). Findings support hypothesis that religious detachment among young is associated with increased proneness to commit suicide. Effect of family dissolution was positive and significant for both men and women in 1981. (Author/NB)
