Our Self-Destructive Youth: A Look at the Problems and Their Causes.
Hunter, Eagan
NASSP Bulletin, v76 n549 p52-58 Jan 1993
The U.S. family--the backbone of earlier societies--is rapidly degenerating, indicating the need for a social or educational agency surrogate for family caring and supervision. Time has demonstrated value-neutral education's devastating effects on our nation and our social interactions. Educators must help emerging adolescents form realistic concepts and cope with the ambiguities and paradoxes of growing up. (seven references) (MLH)
