Parental Roles in the Post-School Adjustment of Their Son or Daughter with a Disability.
Dempsey, Ian
Australia and New Zealand Journal of Developmental Disabilities, v17 n3 p313-20 1991
Twenty-eight Australian parents of recent special school graduates with moderate/severe intellectual disability were interviewed concerning their child's postschool adjustment. Results indicated that virtually all parents continued to play a significant role in their child's welfare, that vocational situations varied widely, and that many families looked to the future with uncertainty.
