Predicting Academic Adjustment and Career Indecision: A Comparison of Self-Efficacy, Interest Congruence, and Commitment.
Chartrand, Judy M.; And Others
Journal of College Student Development, v33 n4 p293-300 Jul 1992
Compared self-efficacy, interest congruence, and student commitment across indices of academic adjustment and career indecision for 98 undergraduates. Both commitment and self-efficacy were salient predictors of academic adjustment. Commitment also contributed the most variance in the explanation of one's major. Found different pattern in prediction of career indecision, with interest congruence being only significant individual predictor. (Author/NB)
