Patterns of Development of Autonomy and Mature Interpersonal Relationships in Black and White Undergraduate Women.
Taub, Deborah J.; McEwen, Marylu K.
Journal of College Student Development, v32 n6 p502-08 Nov 1991
Examined patterns of psychosocial development for white and African-American traditional-age undergraduate female college students (n=218). Differences were found by class level in measures of autonomy with seniors scoring higher than other classes and mature interpersonal relationship scores indicating a gradual increase. In a measurement of intimacy, white females exhibited higher scores than did African-American females. (Author/ABL)
