Psychosocial HIV Interventions in the Second Decade: A Note on Social Support and Social Networks.
Cochran, Susan D.; Mays, Vickie M.
Counseling Psychologist, v19 n4 p551-57 Oct 1991
Responds to model presented in previous article on counseling the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected client. Sees model not as parsimonious model articulating relationships among constructs, but rather as catalog of factors that may influence HIV-related experience. Offers examples of how focus on diversity, social networks, and social context might influence understanding of psychological needs of HIV-affected individuals. (NB)
