Social Information Processing and the Effects of Reputational, Situational, Developmental, and Gender Factors among Children's Sociometric Groups.
Cirino, Robert J.; Beck, Steven J.
Merrill-Palmer Quarterly, v37 n4 p561-83 Oct 1991
Second and fifth graders from five sociometric status groups were interviewed for their attributional, emotional, and behavioral responses to hypothetical social encounters with same-sex and same-grade peers with the same sociometric status. Results demonstrate that children's manner of processing social information is a complex phenomenon based on interactions between reputational, situational, developmental, and gender factors. (GLR)
