Examined degree to which gender moderates relationship of stress and social support to strain among 115 college students. Found that stress, social support, and their interaction accounted for 18-29 percent of variance in physical symptomatology in women but nonsignificant amounts in men and that there were differences in the predictive utility of different kinds of social support.
