The Prevalence of Husband-Centered Migration: Employment Consequences for Married Mothers.
Shihadeh, Edward S.
Journal of Marriage and the Family, v53 n2 p432-44 May 1991
Analysis of data from migrant couples showed that wives often deferred to husbands in decision to move. Subsidiary role for wives was most apparent when husbands indicated employment reasons for moving and was also positively associated with annual income of couple. Odds of obtaining postmigration employment were decreased for wives who deferred to husbands in reason to move. (Author/NB)
