Classification Congruence among School Psychologists and Its Relationship to Type of Referral Question and Professional Experience.
Ward, Sandra B.; And Others
Journal of School Psychology, v29 n2 p89-108 Sum 1991
Investigated referral question bias on school psychologists' classification decisions across different types of cases. Findings from 175 school psychologists who classified 5 case studies on basis of scores from intelligence, achievement, and behavioral measures revealed lack of congruence among respondents' classification decisions that was more evident in connection with nonexceptional cases and that resulted in more false-positive decisions.
