Investigated low-income parents' (n=268) perceptions of the role and effectiveness of public school counselors, with particular attention to college advising. Results indicated parents generally held a low opinion of the effectiveness of school counselors, although they underestimated the amount of contact their children had with the counselor. (ABL)
