Helping Freshman Parents See the Value of General Education Courses.
Hinni, John; Eison, James
Journal of the Freshman Year Experience, v2 n2 p89-99 1990
Parents (n=703) in a college freshman summer orientation program indicated the skills most needed to face future challenges: communication skills, computer skills, critical thinking and decision making, interpersonal skills, and adaptability. These skills correlate with those taught in general education courses, underscoring the relationship between general education and essential life skills. (Author/MSE)
