The day-to-day demands of teaching make eliminating job stress all but impossible. Urban teachers can do a better job of containing and controlling stress if they can recognize the stress potential in a situation and identify the causes of stress. Expanding one's individual psychophysiological capacity helps. Includes six references. (MLH)
