The Influence of Situation and Coping on Relapse Crisis Outcomes after Smoking Cessation.
Bliss, Ryan E.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v57 n3 p443-49 Jun 1989
Examined influence of situational characteristics and coping on outcome of relapse crisis for 232 subjects followed for 1 month after self-initiated attempt at smoking cessation. Survival of a relapse crisis was most strongly related to the number of coping strategies used, rather than to their type (cognitive or behavioral). Results are discussed with reference to previous relapse studies. (Author/TE)
