Governor's Effort to Simplify Louisiana's Higher-Education System Deepens the Bitter Divisions Created by Years of Segregation and Political Turf Wars. [and] Higher-Education Probes by Crusty Louisiana Watchdog Bring Headlines and Headaches.
Cage, Mary Crystal
Chronicle of Higher Education, v36 n7 pA29-30 Oct 18 1989
Under a district court's order, the Louisiana's higher-education coordinating board and three other boards--historically Black Southern University System, Louisiana State University System, and the one for the other state colleges and universities--were to be eliminated and replaced by a single board. Mismanagement by Louisiana schools is discussed. (MLW)
