Theoretical and Methodological Issues in the Identification of the Social Networks of Spouses.
Milardo, Robert M.
Journal of Marriage and the Family, v51 n1 p165-74 Feb 1989
Conducted interviews with spouses to obtain data on those people considered significant (psychological networks). Telephone interviews with same spouses identified people with whom they interacted frequently (interactive networks). Comparisons of network types revealed minimal overlap; approximately 25 percent of network members were included in both groups. Size of psychological network was unrelated to actual social participation of spouses. (Author/NB)
