Analyzed studies of attempted suicide in Soviet psychiatric journals and interviewed Soviet psychiatrists now living abroad to obtain information on suicide in the Soviet Union. Results showed evidence that the rate of Soviet suicide may be rising in certain parts of the country and that suicide is a subject of increasing concern in the Soviet Union. (Author/NB)
