Parent-Child Relationships and Single and Two Parent Families: Implications for Substance Usage.
Selnow, Gary W.
Journal of Drug Education, v17 n4 p315-26 1987
Conducted two studies to examine relationship between substance use and parent-child relationships in single and two parent families. Results showed that children living with both parents were less likely to report higher substance use than were children living with one parent. Subjects who reported better parent-child relationships were more likely to report lower substance use. (Author/NB)
