Examined therapist characteristics and behaviors related to enhancement of cohesiveness in psychoeducational group treatment for depression. Assessed therapist and client variables pretreatment, posttreatment, and one month follow-up. Found no significant differences, though group leaders with an internal locus of control, an indirect style of leading group interaction, and considerable warmth, generated cohesive group interaction more effectively.
