Comparison of two seating arrangements, free choice versus teacher assigned integrated seating, in a rural Alberta seventh grade social studies class which included five Native American students showed no differences for academic responding or assignment completion, increased participation in the integrated arrangement, and preference by the Native Americans for the integrated seating.
