Family Formation and Marital Selectivity Among Colombian and Dominican Immigrants in New York City.
Gurak, Douglas T.
International Migration Review, v21 n2 p275-98 Sum 1987
Correlates of outmarriage among Colombian and Dominican migrants in New York City were examined. The findings show that they are long-term settlers, although not necessarily permanent ones. A large minority marry persons of different national origins. The strongest predictors of outmarriage are urban background, parental education, and respondent education. (VM)
