Cognitive Changes after Alcohol Cue Exposure.
Cooney, Ned L.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v55 n2 p150-55 Apr 1987
Examining cognitive changes in alcoholics in treatment and nonalcoholics after alcohol cue exposure. Alcoholics responded to alcohol cues with reports of increased physical symptoms, decreased confidence about coping with future temptation, and increased guilt. Findings suggest that alcoholics in high-risk relapse situations experience an increase in positive outcome expectations, like non-alcoholics, but also a decrease in self-efficacy. (Author/KS)
