Client Affect and Concerns: Their Effect on the Counselor.
Thomas, Arthur H.; And Others
Journal of Humanistic Education and Development, v25 n3 p92-103 Mar 1987
Investigated whether counseling students' (N=82) evaluations of client need and desire for counseling would differ depending on intensity and type of emotions expressed. Depressed men expressing affect were rated as significantly less desirable to counsel than were other types of clients. Results suggest that counseling students are influenced by content of client's concerns and level of client affect. (Author/NB)
