Evaluation of a 6-year-old's phonological and morphological systems led to the development of three hypotheses regarding the nature of her language impairment which were then tested by monitoring the child's progress in therapy. Results suggested continuing reliance on simplification processes similar to these of younger normal children. (Author/CB)
