Allowed to immigrate to Canada partially because of lobbying efforts by voluntary agencies established by Ukrainian Canadians, the post-World War II Displaced Persons (DPs) soon began to conflict with their predecessors. The DPs' creation of several new organizations alienated the receiving Ukrainian society and hampered the latter's overseas relief and resettlement operations. (Author/GC)
