Teaching Style and Student Ratings.
Hudak, Mary A.; Anderson, David E.
Teaching of Psychology, v11 n3 p177-78 Oct 1984
In evaluating their psychology course, undergraduate students showed a strong preference for the heuristic and philetic teaching styles over the didactic style. The heuristic style emphasizes ideas and teaches students to think; classroom discussions are important. The philetic style emphasizes the student-teacher relationship. The didactic style emphasizes memorization and drill. (RM)
