An Analysis of the Goal, Structure, and Social Context of the 1965 Penn State Seminar and the 1983 Getty Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts.
McFee, June King
Studies in Art Education, v25 n4 p276-81 Sum 1984
The Penn State Seminar grew out of the need for quality research in art education. Art was viewed in a broad, interdisciplinary context. The Getty Institute sought to establish visual art, defined as including art history, art criticism, studio production, and aesthetic perception, as a discipline-based subject in elementary schools.
