The Efficacy of Institutionally Dispensed Rewards in Elementary School Teaching.
Kasten, Katherine Lewellyn
Journal of Research and Development in Education, v17 n4 p1-13 Sum 1984
Teachers' attitudes towards incentives should be analyzed before programs involving such incentives as merit pay or master teachers are implemented. Elementary school teachers were interviewed to help identify the value and effectiveness of institutional rewards. The interaction between personal life events and career choices was also examined. Results are discussed. (DF)
