Investigated the role of sexist stereotypes in student evaluations of teacher effectiveness, in areas of social studies and women's studies. Found that male students judged female social studies instructors' competence more on basis of attributes associated with feminine behavior (warmth, etc.) than on masculine attributes (assertiveness, etc.).
